Eden Hopefield

Eden is a large communal space for people to stay if they have no where to go. There is the large house and some smaller ones. They will then work on and live off the land. It is solar powered and has drinkable borehole water so is aiming to become fully self sustainable. Some of our church members have already benefited from staying there and also some volunteer their time to go and help on weekends.

VISION

The initial vision for Eden in Hopefield was to create a working Christian Community. Some may be looking for a place of peace and serenity. Some to enjoy their twilight years of retirement. Some to perhaps escape the rat-race of city life.

But a significant part of the vision was to create a place of safety for those struggling due to hard times caused by unemployment, broken relationships, bad choices, or other life challenges. For all people Eden is meant to be a place of safety; a place of hope; a place of new beginnings.

Of equal importance is for Eden to fulfil its call to become a thriving living garden. Firstly, as a beautiful garden of trees, lawns, and flowers. Secondly, to become a productive farm producing a variety of vegetable, fruit and livestock to both sustain the community with food and create a source of finance in the future.
