Beliefs about money

We don’t take up offerings on Sundays. There is a box at the door or snapscan if people come prepared to give, but we encourage our people to give electronically as they can.

Our teaching on giving is that it should be unto the Lord,

“as you have decided in your heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor 9:7) .

We believe in the concept of generous giving as opposed to tithing, as this is a better reflection of the New Testament teaching. This is not an excuse for stinginess, but rather an invitation to be led by the Holy Spirit and be generous in all areas of life. A wise man once said, “What you do with your money, reveals what is in your heart”.
